Over 10 years ago I found an online archive of images of New Zealand regiments fighting in the First World War. This year, thinking about a Centenary of the beginning of this terrible war, I decided to create a large interactive installation inspired by these pictures.
Installation works like our memory: images of the past are fading away, fragments of people and events make up the new entities or disintegrate.
Ponad 10 lat temu znalazłem internetowe archiwum zdjęć wielu
nowozelandzkich regimentów z okresu Pierwszej Wojny. Tego roku, myśląc o
setnej rocznicy początku tej strasznej wojny postanowiłem stworzyć dużą
interaktywną instalację audiowizualną. Instalacja działa trochę jak
nasza pamięć: obrazy rozpadają się, czasem z fragmentów powstaje
złudzenie czegoś nowego...
